What happens after you get in touch

  1. You send a short message. A few lines about what has been happening and what you would like help with is plenty. Your message comes only to me and is treated as confidential.
  2. I reply personally, usually within a few hours, to arrange a free 10-minute phone call.
  3. The free phone call. We talk briefly about what you are looking for, so that we can both judge whether I am the right person to help. There is no obligation to go any further.
  4. A 50-minute assessment. If we go ahead, the first session is an assessment. I listen carefully, ask precise questions, and form a clear picture of what you are experiencing and what treatment would involve.
  5. Weekly sessions. Treatment is usually weekly 50-minute sessions, online or in person. Most courses of CBT run between 8 and 20 sessions, depending on the difficulty and your goals.

Where sessions take place

Online across the UK

Most of my sessions are online, by secure video, so this is where most of my availability is. You can have therapy from home, or anywhere private, wherever you are in the UK. Most of the work I do, including ERP for OCD and trauma-focused CBT, works well online.

In person in Queen's Park, North West London

I see people in person on Thursdays at:

Re-Mind The Body Therapy Centre
260a Kilburn Lane
London W10 4BA

It is about five minutes' walk from Queen's Park station, on the Bakerloo line and London Overground, and easy to reach from Kilburn, Kensal Green, Maida Vale, West Hampstead, Willesden and St John's Wood. Open the address in Google Maps.

Fees

Sessions are 50 minutes: £120 online and £135 in person. My practice is private and self-pay, and the first phone call is free.

What I can help with

How I work

Therapy with me is structured and collaborative. It is often part detective work, part trusted confidant: piecing together why things keep happening, then working together to get them back on track. I tailor therapy to each person, so we aim for whatever matters most to you.

Is this the right service for you?

I work with adults (18 and over) on a private, self-pay basis. My practice is suited to adults who are managing their day-to-day lives, even if that takes considerable effort, and who are not currently at risk. If, at assessment, I think a different service would suit you better, I will say so and help you think about where to turn.

Spaces are limited, so it is worth getting in touch to check current availability. If you are unsure whether what you are experiencing is "bad enough" for therapy, that hesitation is very common, and it isn't a reason to wait.

For GPs and other clinicians

I welcome referrals from GPs, psychiatrists and other clinicians. Please email me at guykleintherapy@gmail.com to discuss a referral, or pass on my details so that your patient can contact me directly.

If you need help urgently

I am not able to respond to urgent messages. If you are in crisis or at risk, call 999 or contact Samaritans on 116 123.
